Bella's story began many months before she was born. I had hoped and prayed that my growing friendship with Susan Perkins, Ayuthaya Siamese, would produce the honor of qualifying me to own one of her finely bred Siamese kittens. Those in the cat Fancy have all heard of the reputations of Susan Perkins and Virginia Wheeldon... They are breeders of sound kittens with everything ... health, personality and extreme beauty. However, beneath these high standards is a bond with each little kitten that translates into the highest of standards, when selecting homes for their precious new little kittens. Living 3,500 miles away, and being new to the Fancy I hardly dared to dream about what it would be like to own one of her precious babies. Not only would it mean a special kitten to show, but the breeding lines of these top winning cats would mean I would be realizing a dream...to be able to have kittens of my own someday.
Many months passed and one day the phone rang...it was Susan with a special message for me...she said, "hold on a minute, there's "someone" who wants to talk to you"..soon I heard it, the precious little voices of new born kittens! My heart was in my throat, as I knew my little baby Bella had been born. Now, there was nothing to do but wait, which I will admit to you, I'm not very good at. Over the next months anxiety grew and I honestly was bonding with a baby I had not yet met. Time passed slowly, and the Annual finally arrived. Susan and Virginia were driving to Louisville, from the Toronto area with all the babies. Wow, was this ever exciting! The child inside me wanted to wait at the curb for them to drive up...and by now both Virginia and Susan were hoping I'd let them get settled in their hotel room first. The first time I saw Bella my breath was taken away... God was so good!! Here was this precious little girl who's beauty was very evident and who's personality was full of confidence and charm. She was regal, yet playful, and I knew our journey together was just starting. Bella settled in our family well, and had a glorious run being shown in the kitten class.

We're thrilled to say that Bella ended up as fifth best Siamese kitten nationally for the 2008-09 show season and earned a regional win in the Southest Region (23rd best allbreed kitten). She went on to earn her grand championship title in just two one-day shows. We treasure her and she rules the roost. She loves to fetch, and her confidence thrills us ... as we encourage her full potential.
